In accordance with HEE requirements 2016, this Chemical Skin Peeling qualification will enable you to evidence the completion of multiple chemical peel procedures and be underpinned by superior understanding of the physiological considerations for successful regenerative effects.
This course will provide you with a wide understanding of different peeling agents and the diversity and implications of:
Formulation strength, pH, Modes of Action, Methods of Application and other variances which can control depth of penetration and the physiological impact of the treatment within the skin.
This award is made up of the following modules:
- The indications and general practice of Chemical Skin Peeling
- Peeling Agents and Formulation
- Procedural Considerations and Practical Techniques
- Peel Systems, Product Knowledge and Protocols
There are two practical days for this course.
This is a distance learning qualification in which knowledge is delivered through audio visual presentations via a bespoke online learning system. Your practical days will be carried out at the training centre and include practical assessments and mock exams.
There will be a multiple choice final exam that will take place at our centre.
You will be required to complete 2 or 3 case studies, these will include consultation and assessment procedures, analysis of information, documentation and client assessment, treatment procedure and recording and your study report. SEE AGENDA
This qualification is delivered through an e learning portal along with a supporting manual. The e learning consists of video tutorials which enable you to work at a pace that suits your personal situation. You are able to start and stop your learning at any time, day or night.
For those already working in beauty therapy, aesthetic or other clinical environments, this award will cover familiar topics and practices but it is vital that you review, reinforce and update your knowledge to ensure that you are working within the codes of best practice.
This qualification will provide you with an unprecedented understanding and expertise of all elements of chemical skin peeling and regeneration treatment using alpha, beta, poly and bionic hydroxyl acids as both single agent peels and combination formulations with a variety of percentage strengths and pH.
You will have the underpinning knowledge essential for informed best practice, pre and post procedural protocols and practical competence in all skin peeling procedures within the framework of the Level 4 curriculum to the skin depth of the upper stratum granulosum.

There are 4 modules as part of this qualification. Study in total should take a minimum of 12 - 20 hours.
Each module of study takes 3 - 5 hours to complete individually.
This time includes note taking, question and answer and consolidation exercises.

Multiple Choice Tests take an hour each.
Tuition Days are held over 2 non-consecutive days and include practical training, assessment and mock exams
Two different clients are used as case studies. Each client has a minimum of 3 treatments or if 3 clients are used, they would each have 2 treatments each.
Allocate 7 - 10 hours for each case study
The Final exam is sat at our centre - it is a 45 minute exam.
