What is Skin Health Assessment for Aesthetic Practice?
This award is designed to equip skin health practitioners with in-depth knowledge and understanding of skin diagnosis. Progressing from the primary skin types and conditions that will have been previously learned at foundation level training, this course looks at more advanced dysfunctions, disorders and diseases of the skin. Students will learn how to identify various conditions both visually and through assessing external factors such as a client's lifestyle, diet and general health. Through providing a thorough and comprehensive skin assessment, students will be able to develop long term skin health plans for their clients, ultimately leading to better results and greater client satisfaction.

What is the format of this course?
As with all of the Awards in the Level 4 program, Skin Health Assessment for Aesthetic Practice is a distance learning qualification. Learners complete their studies in their own time, via our e-learning platform and supporting manual. 
There will also be a final multiple choice exam which will take place at the Facethetics Training centre in Liverpool.

This qualification is delivered through an e learning portal along with a supporting manual. Your manual follows the e learning and gives plenty of space for your to make notes as you learn. The e learning consists of video tutorials that sometimes follow slide content, these videos substantially embellish the subject. You are able to work at a pace that suits your personal situation. You are able to start and stop your learning at any time, day or night.

There will be tasks given throughout the completion of this unit and your course folder will be part of your portfolio that is to be presented to the CIBTAC examiner at the end of this award.

There will be multiple choice tests throughout your home learning and portfolio completion. Alongside the e learning, the following is included for this award.

  • One day practical workshop that will take place at our training centre
  • Two case studies to be carried out in your own environment, allow 3 hours per case study
  • Completion of Assessment Workbook
  • Final exam that will take place at our training centre
